Here’s what you need to know about the second annual Pride Promenade – click on tabs below for more details!

At 1:15 pm, the community will gather at Peace & Justice Plaza and be entertained by the Triangle Pride Jazz Band.
At 2:00 pm, Chapel Hill Mayor Pro Tem Karen Stegman will signal the official start of the Promenade.
The Promenade will end at 140 West Plaza, where the celebration will continue until 4:00 pm with music, dancing, art, and more.

This event is the start of the month-long Chapel Hill-Carrboro Small Town Pride celebration.

After the Promenade, plan to stay and celebrate at 140 West Plaza until 4 p.m. Here’s what’s happening:
- Live DJ set & dancing
- Community mural making with artist Freddy Bell
- Pride public art installation from artist Julia Gartrell
- Education and resource tables, including Equality NC and UNC LGBTQ+ Center
- Performances from Imagine Circus and acclaimed Drag performer Naomi Dix
- Chapel Hill Public Library’s Circulator, with LGBTQ+ books and more
- Sweet treats from Maple View Ice Cream and LocoPops
More than a thousand people attended the inaugural Promenade in 2022 and a large crowd is expected for this year’s event.

Biking, cycling, and walking is encouraged, as is riding Chapel Hill Transit. The closest paid parking area to the start of the march is the Wallace Deck. Parking is also available at 140 West where the march ends. More Information about downtown parking options is available at parkonthehill.com.

Henderson Street between Franklin Street and Rosemary Street will be closed from approximately 1:15 – 2:15 p.m.
