Request for Qualifications
We’re looking for Triangle-based artists and artist teams to create murals painted on the sidewalk around prominent storm drains in Chapel Hill. These storm drain murals will be approximately 6 feet in diameter, are intended to last a few years, and their designs should be fun, eye-catching, and speak to environmental themes. See past storm drain mural projects.
FINALIST PROPOSAL COMPENSATION: Selected finalists will be paid $100 each to submit a mural design.
PROJECT STIPEND: Artists whose designs are selected will receive an all-inclusive stipend of $1,300 to finalize their design with stakeholder input and paint the mural around the designated storm drain.
ELIGIBILITY: Artists and/or artist teams must be 18+ and live within a 40-mile radius of Chapel Hill.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Monday, January 29 at 5 p.m.
