The Porch Column Mural, Rosemary Street Parking Deck, Chapel Hill, NC
We’re looking for a Triangle-based artist or artist team to design and install a mural on an exterior column of a new parking deck at 125 Rosemary Street in downtown Chapel Hill. Known as The Porch, this street-level entry area features a prominent rectangular column with a surface area of approximately 370 square feet across its four faces. The selected artist or team will contract with the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership to finalize their proposed design and install the mural in the fall of 2024.
The appearance of the proposed mural should fit the contemporary design of the new deck but is otherwise open to the artist’s vision.
PROJECT BUDGET / STIPEND: Up to three finalists will receive $100 proposal stipends. The artist/team selected for the project will receive an all-inclusive $6,000 stipend to finalize the design and fabricate/install the artwork.
ELIGIBILITY: Artists and/or artist teams must be 18+, live within 40 miles of Chapel Hill, possess General Liability Insurance, and submit application materials following the specifications listed below. Selected project artist/team will need to rent a lift for installation.
