Library Tech Lab Mural Application

Complete this application and upload the following materials as one zipped file.  Don’t know how to zip a file? Learn more here. File formats other than those requested will not be considered. 

Applications should include:
 

Four (4) Digital Photos of Your Indoor Mural Work:

• Submit (4) photographs of indoor murals you have successfully installed that represent your current style of work and may be relevant to this project.
• Each photo should be approximately 900 pixels (longest dimension) and no larger than 500 KB.
• Submit each photo as a separate .jpg or .png file.

A list providing basic information on each of the murals shown in your photos:

• Submit the list as one single .docx or .pdf file.
• This list should provide the following information for each of the murals shown in your photos and reference the photo’s filename: dimensions (height x width in feet), media, and any other relevant information you would like to share (year completed, budget, and/or installation timeframe).

Resume: No more than 2 pages providing artistic resume and mural projects.

Application materials will be reviewed by a selection team comprising representatives of Chapel Hill Public Library, the Community Arts & Culture Advisory Board, and the local artist community. Up to three finalists will be invited to submit proposals based upon the artistic excellence of their work and mural experience. Each finalist will receive a $100 proposal stipend. The project artist/team will be selected based on the artistic excellence and site-suitability of their proposal.

Monday, September 23 at 5 p.m.: Application deadline

Friday, October 4: Applicants contacted with selection results.

October: Finalists submit proposals; Project Artist/Team selected and finalizes design.

November: Project Artist/Team installs the mural.

By Monday, November 25: Mural completed.

The Town of Chapel Hill reserves the right to refuse any or all submissions or works, to refuse any finalist, and to waive informalities in procedures should it be determined that submissions or works are not adequate, or to cancel this RFQ and the associated application process for any reason prior to a written arrangement being reached.
