Artistic Enhancements for Cedar Falls Tennis Court Pathway, Chapel Hill
The Town of Chapel Hill is looking for a North Carolina-based artist or artist team to design, create, and install artistic features or enhancements along the pathway to the newly reconstructed outdoor tennis courts at Cedar Falls Park. See more details in this video of the space.

A wide variety of art concepts will be considered, including…
- Sculptures
- Installations or artistic environments
- Light-based pieces
- Artistic amenities
Proposed project concepts should celebrate the natural beauty of the wooded Cedar Falls Park environment, and may connect to the sport of tennis and other sports and activities that occur at the park. The materials and appearance of the artwork should aesthetically integrate with the site environment and require minimal maintenance. Selected project will include an opportunity for public input prior to final design.
This project is expected to be completed and installed in spring 2027.
SITE VISIT & PROPOSAL STIPEND: $750 per selected Finalist
ALL-INCLUSIVE PROJECT STIPEND: $30,000 for selected Project Artist/Team
ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be 18+, reside in North Carolina, and submit application materials using the directions below. Selected Finalists will attend a Site Visit in mid-December. Selected Project Artist/Team must carry liability insurance.
