Bolin Creek Pipe Mural Application

Complete this application and upload the following materials as one zipped file. Don’t know how to zip a file? Learn more here. File formats other than those requested will not be considered.

Applications should include:

Four (4) Images and List of Previous Work:

• Submit 4 image examples of your art that are relevant to this project.
• Each image should be about 900 pixels (longest dimension) and no larger than 600 KB.
• Submit each image as a separate .jpg file.
• Submit an image list as a separate .docx or .pdf file and include the file name, media, and dimensions.

Art Resume

• No more than 2 pages for each artist/team member providing artistic resumes and descriptions of relevant projects.

Representatives from area neighborhoods, the Town of Chapel Hill’s Parks & Recreation Department, the Chapel Hill Public Art Commission, and the Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OWASA) will review application materials and select up to ten finalists/finalist teams to present proposals. Selection of the finalists will be based on the artistic excellence and relevance of previous work and projects. These finalists will each receive a $100 stipend to submit a proposal.

The artists/teams chosen from the finalists will complete their projects following the schedule below. Each artist/team will be assigned a set of three to five consecutive pipes to paint.

Wednesday, February 21 at 5pm: Deadline for submission of application materials

End of February: All applicants will be emailed with selection results; Finalists begin contracting and proposal work

Mid-March: Finalist proposals due

Early April: Selection of project artists/teams and proposal designs are finalized

Mid-April: Project artists/teams begin mural installations

End of June (or earlier): Mural projects completed
