Request for Qualifications
We’re looking for six Triangle-based artists or artist teams to paint murals on six sets of cement “pipes” along the Bolin Creek Trail between MLK Jr. Blvd. and the Chapel Hill Community Center. These cylindrical cement pipes are five feet in diameter and range from two to ten feet in height. See past pipe mural projects.
Murals should allow the pipes to better harmonize with the environment. They will delight and inform neighbors, commuters, and other trail users who travel the Bolin Creek Trail.
Project Commission Budgets. $2,500 – $5,000/artist or team
Finalist Proposal Stipends. $100/artist or team
Deadline. Wednesday, February 21 at 5pm
