Art For Action – NAACP Youth Council Art Bus

We’re looking for Triangle-based artists or artist team with teaching experience to lead the Chapel Hill – Carrboro NAACP Youth Council in designing an art bus wrap. We’re looking for art that touches on themes of anti-racism and racial justice and incorporates the youth perspective on these issues. Local artists who identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person Of Color (BIPOC) are strongly encouraged to apply.  The selected artist/team will receive a stipenof $3,000 for leading workshops with teen artists and finalizing the group’s design for print 

This project is part of Art + Transit, bringing life to the daily commute. 

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Monday, December 21, 2020

ELIGIBILITY: Artists must live within a 40-mile radius of Chapel Hill and submit application materials following the directions listed below.

About Art + Transit

Since 2018, bus shelters around Chapel Hill and Carrboro have been beautified by local artists. In 2020, art took a new form around the outside of a Chapel Hill Transit bus.
